چکیده
Reliable and accurate in situ sensors capable of detecting quantifying troublesome marine biofilms on metallic surfaces are increasingly necessary. A 0.2 mm diameter gold electrochemical sensor was fully characterized using cyclic voltammetry abiotic biotic artificial seawater media within a continuous culture flow cell to detect the growth development an aerobic Pseudoalteromonas sp. biofilm. Deconvolution responses enable constituent extracellular electron transfer biofilm be resolved. Bacterial Biofilms on Fungal Surfaces
Bacterial biofilm formation on fungi participates in the synergistic degradation of substrates, antagonism of fungal growth, bacterial utilization of fungi as nutrient sources, and the formation of more complex synergistic associations for the purposes of nutrient acquisition. While bacterial biofilm formation has been described in many systems, the molecular mechanisms that govern these intera...

A regenerable electrochemical immunosensor with novel 3D DNA nanostructure-decorated gold surfaces was developed by taking advantage of DNA-directed antibody conjugation and high resistance to non-specific protein adsorption.
متن کاملFc–ssDNA conjugate: electrochemical properties in a borate buffer and adsorption on gold electrode surfaces
By using an electroactive species such as ferrocene (Fc), the electrochemical properties of bioorganic molecules were indirectly made accessible. 50-Fc-NH-ssDNAs have a redox potential of 430–440 mV (vs. AgjAgCl) in a borate buffer (pH 9), which is characteristic of ferrocene/ferrocenium (Fc/Fcþ) substituted by an amide group. The diffusion coefficient of Fc–ssDNA conjugates in a buffer solutio...
متن کاملStudy on Electrochemical Insulin Sensing Utilizing a DNA Aptamer-Immobilized Gold Electrode
We investigated an insulin-sensing method by utilizing an insulin-binding aptamer IGA3, which forms an anti-parallel G-quadruplex with folded single strands. Spectroscopic observation indicates that some anti-parallel G-quadruplex bind hemin and show peroxidase activity. In this study, the peroxidase activity of IGA3 with hemin was confirmed by spectrophotometric measurements, i.e., the activit...
متن کاملElectrochemical synthesis of gold and protein gradients on particle surfaces.
A straightforward, versatile approach to the production of protein gradients on planar and spherical particle surfaces is described. The method is based on the spatially controlled oxidation of thiolated surfaces by Au(III) ions generated via the electrochemical oxidation of a gold electrode in a phosphate-buffered saline solution (10 mM PBS, pH 7.2, 150 mM NaCl). Because the gold electrode is ...
